     Major James Rutherford Lumley was born on 27 October 1810 at Fort William, Calcutta, India.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir James Rutherford Lumley and Caroline Wilkinson.¹ He married Arabella Wilkinson.¹ He married Clara Letitia Faithfull, daughter of Colonel William Conrad Faithfull and Maria (?), on 1 May 1843 at Fort William, Calcutta, India.¹ He died on 24 January 1885 at age 74 at Sutton, Surrey, England.^2,3
     He fought in the Junjab Wars.²

     Clara Letitia Faithfull was born in 1825 at Bengal, India.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel William Conrad Faithfull and Maria (?)¹ She was baptised on 24 November 1825.¹ She married Major James Rutherford Lumley, son of Maj.-Gen. Sir James Rutherford Lumley and Caroline Wilkinson, on 1 May 1843 at Fort William, Calcutta, India.¹ She died in 1905.¹
     From 1 May 1843, her married name became Lumley.¹

     Arabella Wilkinson was born in 1817.¹ She married Major James Rutherford Lumley, son of Maj.-Gen. Sir James Rutherford Lumley and Caroline Wilkinson.¹ She died in 1841.¹ She was buried on 4 February 1841 at Benares, India.¹
     Her married name became Lumley.¹

     Robert Turner Lumley was born on 6 November 1845 at Simla, India.¹ He was the son of Major James Rutherford Lumley and Clara Letitia Faithfull.¹ He died in 1848.¹
