     Frederick Wise, 1st Baron Wise was born on 10 April 1887.2 He was the son of Edward Wise and Ellen Clayton Joel.2 He married Kate Elizabeth Sturgeon, daughter of John Michael Sturgeon, on 25 November 1911.2 He died in 1969.1
     He was educated at King Edward VI Grammar School, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Flying Corps.2 He was a chartered surveyor, land agent and farmer.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Air Force.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for King's Lynn between 1945 and 1951.1 He was created 1st Baron Wise, of King's Lyon, co. Norfolk [U.K.] on 24 December 1951.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Norfolk in 1954.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)2
