     Rear-Admiral Sir Arthur Farquhar was born in 1772.1 He was the son of Robert Farquhar and Agnes Morison.1 He married Jane Murray on 15 August 1809.1 He died on 25 September 1843 at Carlogie Cottage, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1
     He was commissioned in 1787, in the service of the Royal Navy on board H.M.S. Lowestoffe.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in April 1798.1 He gained the rank of Commander on 29 April 1802.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 8 April 1805.1 He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1815.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.) in 1832.1 He was appointed Knight in 1833.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1837.1

     John Forster, 1st Baron Forster of Harraby was born on 15 September 1888.2 He was the son of John James Forster and Barbara Slack.2 He married Muriel Vosper, daughter of Samuel Vosper, on 4 September 1917.2 He died on 24 July 1972 at age 83.3
     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, England.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Garrison Artillery.2 He was admitted to Gray's Inn in 1919 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1939.2 He was chairman of Railway Staff National Arbitration Tribunal between 1940 and 1959.2 He held the office of Bencher of Gray's Inn in 1943.2 He was chairman of National Arbitration Tribunal in 1944.2 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1946.1 He was president of the Industrial Court between 1946 and 1960.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1948.1 He was chairman of Catering Wages Commission in 1950.2 He was Judge of the Administrative Tribunal, International Labour Organisation in 1957.2 He was created 1st Baron Forster of Harraby, of Beckenham in the County of Kent [U.K.] on 16 July 1959.2
