     Reverend Francis John Hext was born on 10 April 1779.² He was the son of Francis John Hext and Margaret Lang.¹ He was baptised on 3 April 1781 at Bodmin, Cornwall, England.¹ He died on 27 January 1842 at age 62 at Bath, Somerset, England, from overexertion in the promotion of a philanthropic object.²
