     Reverend Francis John Hext was born on 10 April 1779.2 He was the son of Francis John Hext and Margaret Lang.1 He was baptised on 3 April 1781 at Bodmin, Cornwall, England.1 He died on 27 January 1842 at age 62 at Bath, Somerset, England, from overexertion in the promotion of a philanthropic object.2
     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1802 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was Rector between 1817 and 1842 at Helland, Cornwall, England.2
