George Ross, 10th of Pitcalnie1

     George Ross, 10th of Pitcalnie was the son of James Ross of Pitcalnie and Sarah Johnston.2 He married Catherine Gilchrist, daughter of Dugald Gilchrist of Orpisdale, on 1 June 1837.1 He died on 29 August 1884, without issue.1
     He entailed Pitcalnie to his grand-nephew George, subject to taking the Ross of Pitcalnie name and arms.1

     Catherine Gilchrist is the daughter of Dugald Gilchrist of Orpisdale.2 She married George Ross, 10th of Pitcalnie, son of James Ross of Pitcalnie and Sarah Johnston, on 1 June 1837.1
     From 1 June 1837, her married name became Ross.
