William Rose was born on 11 August 1740.1 He was the son of John Rose and Anne Cumming.2 He married Mary ‘The Fair Rose of Montcoffer' Robinson, daughter of William Robinson, on 2 January 1773.1 He died in 1807.1
He was a genealogist and antiquarian.1 He was a tenant at Montcoffer, Banffshire, Scotland.1 He lived at Cask, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He had four other daughters and eight other sons (all died unmarried or without issue.)1

Mary ‘The Fair Rose of Montcoffer' Robinson was the daughter of William Robinson.2 She married William Rose, son of John Rose and Anne Cumming, on 2 January 1773.1 She died on 10 April 1838.1

James Rose-Innes is the son of William Rose and Mary ‘The Fair Rose of Montcoffer' Robinson.2 He married Elizabeth Mary Innes, daughter of Thomas Innes of Monellie and Elizabeth Innes, in 1797.2

Patrick Rose was born on 12 November 1780.1 He was the son of William Rose and Mary ‘The Fair Rose of Montcoffer' Robinson.2 He married Theresa Wemyss, daughter of unknown Wemyss of Craighall, in 1815.1 He died on 2 July 1844 at age 63.1
He held the office of Sheriff-Clerk of Banffshire.1 He had four daughters and four younger sons.1
