     George Norman Douglas was born on 8 December 1868 at Thuringen, Voralberg, Austria.1 He was the son of John Sholto Douglas, 15th of Tilquhillie and Vanda Marie von Poellnitz.1 He married Elizabeth Louisa Theobaldina Fitzgibbon, daughter of Augustus Henry Fitzgibbon and Adèle Mary Elizabeth Baronin von Poellnitz, in 1898.2 He and Elizabeth Louisa Theobaldina Fitzgibbon were divorced in 1903.1 He died on 9 February 1952 at age 83 at Capri, Italy.1
     He was a writer.2 George Norman Douglas usually went by his middle name of Norman.2 He wrote the book South Wind.2
