Sir William Pole was baptised on 6 December 1614.1 He was the son of Sir John Pole, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth How.2 He married, firstly, Grace Trenchard, daughter of Sir Thomas Trenchard.1 He married, secondly, Catharine St. Barbe, daughter of Henry St. Barbe.1 He died circa 17 January 1648/49.1 He was buried on 20 January 1648/49.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Honiton between 1640 and 1642.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1641.1 They had four daughters.1
