     William Monypenny, 14th of Pitmilly was the son of David Monypenny, 13th of Pitmilly and Jonet Monypenny.2 He died in 1520.1
     He succeeded as the 14th Monypenny, of Pitmilly, co. Fife [U.K.].1

     Hon. Elizabeth Monypenny was born circa 1465.2 She was the daughter of David Monypenny, 13th of Pitmilly and Jonet Monypenny.3 She married John Bethune, 6th of Balfour, son of John Bethune, 5th of Balfour and Marjory Boswell.1 She died in 1541.2
     Her married name became Bethune.1 She was also known as Isabella.1 Her married name became Beaton.1

David Monypenny, 15th of Pitmilly1

     David Monypenny, 15th of Pitmilly was born in 1512.1 He was the son of William Monypenny, 14th of Pitmilly.2 He married, firstly, Lady Unknown Daughter Rothes, daughter of William Leslie, 3rd Earl of Rothes and Margaret Balfour.1 He married, secondly, Katherine Lundie, daughter of Walter Lundie of that Ilk, in 1543.1 He died in 1578/79.1
     He succeeded as the 15th Monypenny, of Pitmilly, co. Fife [U.K.] in 1520.1 Following the murder of his cousin Cardinal Beaton, he took refuge in St. Andrew's Castle with conspirators and when the Castle was captured by the French he was taken prisoner and imprisoned in Cherbourg Castle. He was later pardoned by HM Mary Queen of Scots. He continued to be very ardent in Reform case and was again captured by the French.1

     From 21 June 1984, her married name became Melville.1

     David Monypenny, 16th of Pitmilly was the son of David Monypenny, 15th of Pitmilly and Lady Unknown Daughter Rothes.2 He married Elizabeth Monypenny in a They were cousins marriage.1 He died in 1600.1
     He was also an ardent Reformer, sentenced to forfeiture and banishment for opposing marriage of HM Queen Mary of Scots and Darnley.1 He succeeded as the 16th Monypenny, of Pitmilly, co. Fife [U.K.] in 1578/79.1 They also had three other sons and a daughter.1

     James Monypenny, 17th of Pitmilly was the son of David Monypenny, 16th of Pitmilly and Elizabeth Monypenny.2 He married Euphame Colville, daughter of Robert Colville of Cleish, in 1576.1 He died in 1638.1
     They also had four other sons and two daughters.1 He succeeded as the 17th Monypenny, of Pitmilly, co. Fife [U.K.] in 1600.1
