     Sir Charles Richard Borthwick Petrie, 4th Bt. was born on 19 October 1921.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Alexander Petrie, 3rd Bt. and Ursula Gabrielle Borthwick Dowdall.2 He married Jessie Ariana Borthwick Campbell, daughter of Commander Patrick Straton Campbell, on 27 November 1962.1 He died on 8 March 1988 at age 66 at Holsworthy, Cornwall, England, without issue.1,3
     He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Electricial and Mechanical Engineers.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1952 in the Territorial Army.1 He was a member of the Oxfordshire Territorial Army and Auxiliary Forces Association.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Petrie, of Carrowcarden, Castleconnor, Tieragh, co. Sligo [U.K., 1918] on 22 November 1977.1

     Jessie Cecilia Mason was the daughter of Frederick James George Mason.2 She married Sir Charles Alexander Petrie, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Charles Petrie, 1st Bt. and Hannah Lindsay Hamilton, on 24 February 1926.1 She died in 1987.1
     From 24 February 1926, her married name became Petrie.1 She held the office of Mayor of Kensington between 1954 and 1956.1

     Her married name became McLaren.1 From 1952, her married name became Philipson-Stow.1
