     He was ancestor of the O'Kellys of Ballyforan and Mucklon.1 Aedh 'Buidhe' O'Kelly also went by the nick-name of Aedh 'the Yellow'.

     He held the position of Chief of Ui Maine from.3 He was ancestor of the O'Kelly's of Athleague, whose line is now thought to have expired.1
