     Major Denis James Alexander, 6th Earl of Caledon was born on 10 November 1920.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Herbrand Charles Alexander and Millicent Valla Meredyth.3 He married, firstly, Ghislaine Dresselhuys, daughter of Cornelius William Dresselhuys and Edith Merandon du Plessis, on 6 April 1943.1 He and Ghislaine Dresselhuys were divorced in 1948.2 He married, secondly, Baroness Anne Louise de Graevenitz, daughter of Baron Nicholas Werner Alexander de Graevenitz, on 31 December 1952.2 He married, thirdly, Marie Elizabeth Burton Allen, daughter of Major Richard Burton Allen, on 4 August 1964.2 He died on 20 May 1980 at age 59.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He gained the rank of Major in the Irish Guards.2 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Caledon, of Caledon, co. Tyrone [I., 1800] on 10 July 1968.4 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Caledon, of Caledon, co. Tyrone [I., 1790] on 10 July 1968.2 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Caledon, of Caledon, co. Tyrone [I., 1797] on 10 July 1968.3

     Edith Merandon du Plessis was the daughter of Nicholas Emile Merandon du Plessis. She married, firstly, Cornelius William Dresselhuys.1 She married, secondly, James Gomer Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley, son of John Mathias Berry and Mary Ann Rowe, on 30 April 1931.1 She died on 13 September 1976.2
     Her married name became Dresselhuys.1 She was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)2 From 30 April 1931, her married name became Berry.1 After her marriage, Edith Merandon du Plessis was styled as Baroness Kemsley on 3 February 1936. After her marriage, Edith Merandon du Plessis was styled as Viscountess Kemsley on 12 September 1945.3 She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1953.2

     James Gomer Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley was born on 7 May 1883.1 He was the son of John Mathias Berry and Mary Ann Rowe.2 He married, firstly, Mary Lilian Holmes, daughter of Horace George Holmes, on 4 July 1907.1 He married, secondly, Edith Merandon du Plessis, daughter of Nicholas Emile Merandon du Plessis, on 30 April 1931.3 He died on 6 February 1968 at age 84.4
     He was created 1st Baronet Berry [U.K.] on 25 January 1928.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1929.4 He was created 1st Baron Kemsley, of Farnham Royal, co. Buckingham [U.K.] on 3 February 1936.1 He was editor-in-chief of the Sunday Times between 1937 and 1959.1 He was chairman of Kemsley Newspapers Ltd between 1937 and 1959.1 He was awarded the Commander, Order of the Crown of Belgium.1 He was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of Geroge I of Greece.1 He was created 1st Viscount Kemsley, of Dropmore, co. Buckingham [U.K.] on 12 September 1945.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Buckinghamshire.1 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)1 He was awarded the Officier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1959.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.5

     Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Penrose Gordon-Cumming of Altyre, 3rd Bt. was born on 17 August 1816.1 He was the son of Sir William Gordon Gordon-Cumming of Altyre, 2nd Bt. and Eliza Maria Campbell.2 He married Anne Pitcairn Campbell, daughter of Reverend Augustus Campbell and Elizabeth Aspinall, on 28 November 1845.1 He died on 2 September 1866 at age 50.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Light Dragoons and 71st Lught Infantry.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Gordon-Cumming, of Altyre and of Gordonstoun, co. Moray [U.K., 1804] between 25 November 1854 and 1854.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Elgin Volunteers.1
