     She was educated at Burlington Grammar School, London, England.1 She was educated at Girton College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 She graduated from Yale University Law School, New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A.G, with a Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.)1 From 1961, her married name became Higgins.1 She was Staff Specialist in International Law, Royal Institute of International Law between 1963 and 1974.1 She was Professor of International Law between 1978 and 1981 at University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, EnglandG.1 She was Professor of International Law between 1981 and 1995 at London School of Economics, London, EnglandG.1 She was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1986.1 She held the office of Bencher of Inner Temple in 1989.1 She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1995.2 She was appointed Fellow, British Academy (F.B.A.) in 1995.1 After her marriage, Rosalyn Cohen was styled as Baroness Higgins on 28 October 1997.1 She was awarded the Balzan Prize for International Law in 2007.2 She was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 2019.2
