     Sir William Murray of Blackbarony, 5th Bt. was the son of Richard Murray and Jean Davidson.2 He married Jean Allan, daughter of unknown Allan.2 He died circa 1760.3
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Peeblesshire.2 He lived Blackbarony.2 He sold the Spittlehaugh estate he had inherited from his father in 1738.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Murray, of Blackbarony, co. Peebles [N.S., 1628] on 31 December 1741.2
