Hector Edward Macneil, 22nd of Barra was born on 15 September 1795 at Isle of Barra, Scotland.1 He was the son of Hector Macneil, 3rd of Ersary and Anne Macdonald.2 He married Elizabeth Mercereau in 1815.1 He died on 23 December 1880 at age 85.1
