Katherine Campbell was born illegitimately.1 She is the daughter of Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenorchy, 1st Bt.2 She married Finlay Macnab of Macnab, 12th Chief, son of Alexander Macnab of Macnab, 11th Chief.1

John 'Dow' Macnab was the son of Finlay Macnab of Macnab, 12th Chief and Katherine Campbell.2 He married Mary Campbell, daughter of Duncan Campbell, 4th of Glenlyon.1 He died in 1653, killed in a fray with the English near Killin.1
John 'Dow' Macnab also went by the nick-name of 'Smooth John'.1 In 1612 he led the raid in by which the Macnabs avenged the loss of their Christmas dinner by carrying their boat from Loch Tay over Glentarken to Loch Earn and attacking the Neishes, who had survived the recent battle at Boltachan.1 He fought in the Battle of Worcester in 1651, where he led 300 men.1 He had three other daughters (who died unmarried.)1

Duncan Campbell, 4th of Glenlyon was born after 1577 at Glenlyon, Perthshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Colin Campbell, 3rd of Glenlyon and Janet Robertson.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Ogilvy, daughter of John Ogilvy of Powrie and Elizabeth Scrimgeour.2 He married, secondly, Mary Colville.2 He died in 1640.2

Mary Campbell was born circa 1610 at Glenlyon, Perthshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Duncan Campbell, 4th of Glenlyon.3 She married, firstly, John 'Dow' Macnab, son of Finlay Macnab of Macnab, 12th Chief and Katherine Campbell.1 She married, secondly, Malcolm MacGregor on 29 April 1660.1
Her married name became Macnab. On 15 October 1633 she had a charter of the life-rent of Kinnell from her father-in-law.1 From 29 April 1660, her married name became MacGregor.1 She took the lands of Ewer in exchange for Kinnell.1

Alexander Macnab of that Ilk, 13th Chief is the son of John 'Dow' Macnab and Mary Campbell.2 A contract for the marriage of Alexander Macnab of that Ilk, 13th Chief and Elizabeth Menzies was signed on 14 November 1662.2
He had the Macnab lands, which General Monk had made over to the Laird of Glenorchy on 21 Nov 1654, restored by John Campbell of Glenorchy younger (except for the Castle of Ellanryne.)2
