     Colonel Frederick Campbell was born on 15 June 1843 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2,3 He was the son of John Campbell, 3rd of Ardnamurchan and Hannah Elizabeth Macleod.1,2 He was baptised on 13 July 1843 at North Leith, Midlothian, Scotland.3 He married Emilie Guillaumine Maclaine, daughter of Donald Maclaine, 22nd of Lochbuie and Emilie Guillaumine Vincent, on 28 January 1869 at Kensington, London, England.1,4 He died on 13 September 1926 at age 83 at Camberwell, London, England.1,3
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Army.2 He fought in the New Zealand Wars.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 12th Battalion, County of London Volunteer Regiment.2 He was awarded the Royal Officers' Decoration (V.D.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Argyll andn Bute, Royal Garrison Artillery.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1902.1

     Rosa Elizabeth Maclaine was born on 18 November 1853.1 She was the daughter of Donald Maclaine, 22nd of Lochbuie and Emilie Guillaumine Vincent.3 She married, firstly, William Macbean Rankine of Dudhope, son of John Campbell, 5th of Knockbury and 9th of Kilberry and Rosa MacBean, on 17 July 1874.1 She married, secondly, William Henry Plunkett Maquay, son of John Leland Maquay and Elena Gigli, on 5 July 1884.3 She died on 17 May 1927 at age 73.1,2
     From 17 July 1874, her married name became Rankine. From 5 July 1884, her married name became Maquay.3
