     Sir Francis William Lowe, 1st Bt. was born on 8 January 1852.1 He was the son of William Lowe and Emma Griffiths.2 He married Mary Holden, daughter of William Holden, on 12 September 1883.1 He died on 12 November 1929 at age 77.1
     He was a practising solicitor.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Edgbaston between 1898 and 1929.1 He was appointed Knight in 1905.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lowe, of Edgbaston, City of Birmingham [U.K.] on 30 January 1918.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Warwickshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Warwickshire.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1929.1
