     Captain Douglas Plenderleath Lithgow was born on 15 February 1896 at Marylebone, London, England.2 He was the son of Samuel Lithgow.3 He married Dorothy Kathleen Hughes-Onslow, daughter of Major Arthur Hughes-Onslow and Anne Kathleen Whitehead, on 4 March 1919.1 He died on 21 March 1944 at age 48, on active service.3
     He lived at South Newington, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Dragoons.1 He fought in the Second World War.3

     Brigadier Anthony Onslow Lawrence Lithgow was born on 21 April 1921.2 He was the son of Captain Douglas Plenderleath Lithgow and Dorothy Kathleen Hughes-Onslow.2,1 He married Bridget Mary Lighton, daughter of Sir Christopher Robert Lighton, 8th Bt. and Rachel Gwendoline Goodridge, on 6 October 1949.1 He died in 1988.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the The Black Watch.1
