     Francis Charlton-Lechmere was the son of Sir Nicholas Charlton-Lechmere and Susannah Case.2 He died, unmarried.1
     He sold the Severn End estate in 1830.1

     He graduated from St. Andrew's University, St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandG, in 1783 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was awarded the Copley Medal in 1814.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1815.1 He propounded Ivory's Theorem.1 He was Professor of Mathematics at Royal Military College, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.) in 1831.1
