Major Arthur Ogle1

     Major Arthur Ogle was born in 1805 at Knoyle, Wiltshire, England.2 He was the son of Reverend John Saville Ogle and Catherine Hannah Sneyd.3 He married Caroline Amelia Lechmere, daughter of Vice-Admiral William Lechmere and Elizabeth Dashwood-King, on 10 September 1844.1 He died in 1878.2
     He gained the rank of Major in the 9th Regiment.4

     Augusta Lechmere was born on 9 June 1810.1 She was the daughter of Vice-Admiral William Lechmere and Elizabeth Dashwood-King.2 She married James Moncrieff Melville in July 1832 at Steeple Ashton, Oxfordshire, England.1,3 She died on 8 April 1837 at age 26.1,4
     From July 1832, her married name became Melville.

     James Moncrieff Melville was born on 28 September 1793 at St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.2 He married, firstly, Augusta Lechmere, daughter of Vice-Admiral William Lechmere and Elizabeth Dashwood-King, in July 1832 at Steeple Ashton, Oxfordshire, England.1,3 He married, secondly, Margaret Lindsay on 13 October 1839 at Corstorphine, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He died on 28 September 1872 at age 79 at Hanley, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3
     He lived at Hanley, Corstorphine, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)2
