     He was the Rector at Lamas, Norfolk, EnglandG.1

     He was a civil engineer, including the construction of 21 lighthouses.2 He was President of the Institution of Civil Engineers between 1834 and 1845.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)2
