     William Fownes Somerville was born in 1851 at Dinder, Somerset, England.2 He was the son of James Curtis Somerville and Emily Periam Hood.3,2 He married Bertha Eveline Tancred, daughter of Sir Thomas Tancred, 7th Bt. and Jane Selby, on 23 October 1878.1 He died on 15 January 1910 at Wells, Somerset, England.4
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1

     Mary Harriet Hemans was born in 1845 at Westminster, London, England.2 She was the daughter of Colonel George Willoughby Hemans.3 She married Sir Thomas Selby Tancred, 8th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Tancred, 7th Bt. and Jane Selby, on 1 May 1866.1 She died on 26 May 1918 at Paddington, London, England.1,2
     From 1 May 1866, her married name became Tancred.

     Sir Thomas Selby Lawson-Tancred, 9th Bt. was born on 14 May 1870 at Westminster, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Selby Tancred, 8th Bt. and Mary Harriet Hemans.3 He married Margery Elinor Lawson, daughter of Andrew Sherlock Lawson and Hon. Elinor Frances Butler, on 25 April 1912.1 He died on 15 December 1945 at age 75.1
     He was given the name of Thomas Selby Tancred at birth.1 He fought in the Miranzai Expedition in 1891.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Tancred, of Boroughbridge, co. York [E., 1662] on 11 April 1910.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Central India Horse, Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War.1 In November 1914 his name was legally changed to Thomas Selby Lawson-Tancred by Deed Poll.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.1
