     Thomas Rennie Stevenson was born on 26 October 1841.1 He was the son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Margaret Jane Scott.2 He married Isabella Friend, daughter of John Banks Friend and Ellen Pigeon, on 4 June 1870.1 He died on 19 November 1923 at age 82.1
     He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882, including Battle of Tel-el-Kebir (despatches, medal and clasp and Khedive's Star.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1884.1 He was commander of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1886.1 He was commander of the 26th and 71st Regiment Districts between 1887 and 1892.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1893.1 He was Colonel of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1899.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1

     John Banks Friend was born in 1808 at Hanover Square, London, England.2 He was baptised on 9 September 1808 at Birvhington, Kent, England.2 He married Ellen Pigeon on 23 August 1836 at Christ Church Greyfriars, Newgate, London, England.2
     He lived at Ripple Vale, Kent, England.3

     Isabella Friend was born circa 1839 at Christs Hospital, London, England.2 She was the daughter of John Banks Friend and Ellen Pigeon.3,2 She married Thomas Rennie Stevenson, son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Margaret Jane Scott, on 4 June 1870.1 She died on 31 August 1924.1
     From 4 June 1870, her married name became Stevenson.

     Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson of Torrance was born on 14 July 1876.1 He was the son of Thomas Rennie Stevenson and Isabella Friend.2 He married Helen Constance Crawfurd-Stirling-Stuart, daughter of William James Crawfurd-Stirling-Stuart of Castlemilk and Constance Marie de Lormet Dennistoun, on 9 July 1929.1 He died on 17 September 1953 at age 77.1
     He was given the name of Herbert Harry Macdonald Stevenson at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1922 in the Highland Light Infantry.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 In 1938 his name was legally changed to Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson when his wife succeeded to estates of Castlemilk and Torrance.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 26 March 1946.1 He lived at Sunnyside, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1

     Felita Marie West was the daughter of James Everett West.2 She married, secondly, James Stuart Stuart-Stevenson of Torrance, son of Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson of Torrance and Helen Constance Crawfurd-Stirling-Stuart, on 14 January 1957.1 She died on 23 September 1968 at Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.G.1
     Her married name became Reed.1 From 14 January 1957, her married name became Stuart-Stevenson.
