Harry Fearnley Kirkpatrick was born on 8 January 1876.1 He was the son of Sir James Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 8th Bt. and Mary Steward Fearnley.2 He married Clara Agnes Alexander, daughter of J. W. Alexander, on 15 December 1914.1 He died on 27 April 1918 at age 42, on active service.1
He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Division.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier.1 He fought in the Somaliland Campaign between 1908 and 1910.1 He fought in the First World War, and he was mentioned in despatches three time.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1

Clara Agnes Alexander was the daughter of J. W. Alexander.2 She married Harry Fearnley Kirkpatrick, son of Sir James Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 8th Bt. and Mary Steward Fearnley, on 15 December 1914.1 She died on 8 February 1952.1

Sir James Alexander Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 10th Bt. was born on 24 October 1918.1 He was the son of Harry Fearnley Kirkpatrick and Clara Agnes Alexander.2 He married Ellen Gertrude Elliott, daughter of Captain Robert Perceval Elliott, on 2 August 1941.1 He and Ellen Gertrude Elliott were divorced in 1953.1 He died on 3 April 1954 at age 35.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Kirkpatrick, of Closeburn [N.S., 1685] on 2 January 1937.1 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was an Assistant Game Warden at Kenya.1
