     Lt.-Gen. Matthew Kirkpatrick Sharpe was born in 1774 at Hoddom Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe and Eleanora Renton.3 He married unknown Hosea.1 He died on 12 February 1845 at Hoddom Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland, without issue.1,2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries burghs.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.1

     Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe was born on 15 May 1781 at Hoddom Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe and Eleanora Renton.3 He died on 17 March 1851 at age 69 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, unmarried.1,2
     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was an antiquary.1

     Vice-Admiral Alexander Renton Kirkpatrick Sharpe was born on 11 January 1785 at Hoddom Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe and Eleanora Renton.3 He married Catherine Hay, daughter of Robert Hay and Catherine Babington, on 27 February 1821 at Spott, East Lothian, ScotlandG.4 He died on 1 May 1860 at age 75 at Stockwell, Surrey, England, without issue.1,2
     He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in the Royal Navy.1

     Jane Kirkpatrick Sharpe is the daughter of Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe and Eleanora Renton.2 She married Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 5th Bt., son of Sir James Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 4th Bt. and unknown daughter Jardine, on 7 June 1804.2
     From 7 June 1804, her married name became Kirkpatrick.
