     James Johnstone of Westraw was the son of Herbert Johnstone of Westraw.² He married Flora Somerville, daughter of Sir John Somerville, 2nd of Cambusnethan.¹ He died in January 1570/71, killed by two sons of the 2nd Earl of Arran [1503 creation].¹
     He was living in 1560.¹

     Michael Balfour of Garth is the son of Michael Balfour, 3rd of Montquhannie and Mariota Adamson.¹

     Flora Somerville is the daughter of Sir John Somerville, 2nd of Cambusnethan.² She married James Johnstone of Westraw, son of Herbert Johnstone of Westraw.¹
     Her married name became Johnstone.

     James Johnstone of Westerhall was the son of James Johnstone of Westraw and Flora Somerville.² He married Euphemia Oliphant, daughter of Laurence Oliphant, 4th Lord Oliphant and Lady Margaret Hay.¹ He died in May 1633.¹
     In 1605 he sold his lands in lanarkshire and bought Glendoning, Dumfriesshire (later called Westraw or Westerhall.)¹

     James Johnston of Sheens was the son of Samuel Johnston of Sheens.² He died in 1692.²

     James Johnstone of Westerhall was the son of James Johnstone of Westerhall and Euphemia Oliphant.² He married Isabel Scott, daughter of Walter Scott of Harden.¹ He died in May 1643.¹
