     Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel was born on 28 April 1852.1 He was the son of Charles George Noel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough and Lady Ida Harriet Augusta Hay.1 He married Ruth Lucas, daughter of W. H. Lucas, on 7 October 1884.1 He died on 9 November 1917 at age 65.1
     He fought in the Ashanti War between 1873 and 1874.1 He fought in the Jowaki Expedition between 1877 and 1878.1 He fought in the Burmese War between 1885 and 1887.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.1

     Ruth Lucas was the daughter of W. H. Lucas.1 She married Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel, son of Charles George Noel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough and Lady Ida Harriet Augusta Hay, on 7 October 1884.1 She died in April 1926.1

     Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel was born on 14 April 1886.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel and Ruth Lucas.1 He married, firstly, Katherine Florence Ross, daughter of Robert Leighton Ross, on 6 April 1923.1 He married, secondly, Simone Corbiau, daughter of Professor Jean Corbiau, in 1954.1 He died on 10 December 1974 at age 88.1
     He was educated at Oratory School, Birmingham, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was Vice-Consul to Ahwaz in 1915.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1918.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1 He was Political Agent for Kurram in 1924.1 He was Consul to Kerman and Persian Baluchistan in 1929.1 He was Deputy Commissioner of Dehra Ismail Khan in 1931.1 He was Director of Agriculture and Allied Departemtns, North-West Frontier Provinces in 1933.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1
