     James Learmonth of Dairsie was born circa 1541.2 He was the son of Sir Patrick Learmonth of Dairsie and Isobel Balfour.2 A contract for the marriage of James Learmonth of Dairsie and Janet Sandilands was signed on 11 December 1560.1 He died after 1593.2
     He held the office of Provost of St. Andrews.2

     From 9 September 1569, her married name became Sandilands.1 From after 1580, her married name became Bonar.1
