     He gained the rank of officer in the 30th Bengal Native Infantry.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff for County Limerick in 1885.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Limerick.¹ He lived at Mellon, County Limerick, Ireland.¹ He lived at Westbury Lodge, County Clare, Ireland.¹

     Alice Vandeleur is the daughter of Lt.-Col. John Vandeleur and Alice Vandeleur.¹
