Reginald Ashe Holmes à Court was born on 7 December 1879.1 He was the son of Charles George Holmes à Court and Mary West Howe.2 He married Gwladys Mary Eyre Ralfe, daughter of Henry Ralfe, on 8 April 1911.1 He died on 8 August 1973 at age 93.1
He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 54th Canadian Battalion, 2nd Central Ontario Regiment.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1
