     Major Edmund Bernard Malet Vaughan was born on 6 June 1920.¹ He was the son of Major Eugène Napoléon Ernest Malet Vaughan and Hilda Winifred Mander.¹ He married Jean Elizabeth Nelson, daughter of Lt.-Col. J. W. Nelson, on 27 September 1950.¹ He died on 21 September 2011 at age 91.²
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Grenadier Guards.¹
