     He was given the name of Henry Rudston Hamilton at birth.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Gordon Highlanders.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ On 19 June 1920 his name was legally changed to Henry Rudston Stuart-Hamilton by Deed Poll.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was with the Diplomatic Service.¹

     Mabel Mary Ellerbeck was the daughter of Reverend Edmund Milnes Ellerbeck.² She married Henry Rudston Stuart-Hamilton, son of Howden Anson Philip Hamilton and Caroline Alice Faulconer, on 24 June 1920.¹ She died on 21 June 1968.¹
     From 24 June 1920, her married name became Stuart-Hamilton.
