     Marion Dalrymple is the daughter of Hugh Dalrymple of Dromore.² She married Archibald Hamilton, 4th of Dalzell and 9th of Orbieston, son of James Hamilton, 3rd of Dalzell and 8th of Orbieston and Margaret Hamilton, on 19 March 1732.¹
     From 19 March 1732, her married name became Hamilton.

     General John Hamilton, 6th of Dalzell and 11th of Orbieston was born in 1742.¹ He was the son of Archibald Hamilton, 4th of Dalzell and 9th of Orbieston and Marion Dalrymple.² He married Anne Mathews, daughter of Dr. R. Mathews, in 1790.¹ He died on 9 February 1834.¹
     He was General.¹ He was obliged to sell Orbieston and Rosehall after the failure of a commune there (known locally as ‘Babylon') run chiefly by his brother.¹ He lived at Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Anne Mathews is the daughter of Dr. R. Mathews.² She married General John Hamilton, 6th of Dalzell and 11th of Orbieston, son of Archibald Hamilton, 4th of Dalzell and 9th of Orbieston and Marion Dalrymple, in 1790.¹
     From 1790, her married name became Hamilton.
