     Colonel Brian Sherlock Gooch was born on 1 August 1904.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Vere Sherlock Gooch, 10th Bt. and Florence Meta Draper.² He married Monica Mary Heywood, daughter of Nathaniel Arthur Heywood and Florence Amy Clarke, on 6 July 1935.¹ He died on 15 April 1968 at age 63.¹
     He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He fought in the Second World War, he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was Brevet-Colonel of the Suffolk Yeomanry between 1944 and 1950.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1946.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk in 1954.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1956.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Suffolk in 1958.¹

     Monica Mary Heywood was the daughter of Nathaniel Arthur Heywood and Florence Amy Clarke.¹ She married Colonel Brian Sherlock Gooch, son of Sir Thomas Vere Sherlock Gooch, 10th Bt. and Florence Meta Draper, on 6 July 1935.¹ She died on 13 October 1975.¹
     From 6 July 1935, her married name became Gooch.

     Sir Arthur Brian Sherlock Heywood Gooch, 14th Bt. was born on 1 June 1937.¹ He is the son of Colonel Brian Sherlock Gooch and Monica Mary Heywood.² He married Sarah Diana Rowena Perceval, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Francis George Perceval, on 27 July 1963.¹
