John Gibbons was born on 7 October 1801.1 He was the son of Sir John Gibbons, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Tayler.2 He married, firstly, Charlotte Watson, daughter of Sir Charles Watson, 1st Bt., on 22 July 1824.1 He married, secondly, Susannah Cotton, daughter of Reverend Alexander Cotton, on 17 July 1838.1 He died on 31 January 1841 at age 39.1
