     Sir Francis Slingsby was born circa 1522.2 He was the son of Thomas Slingsby and Joan Mallory.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Ingleby, daughter of Sir William Ingleby.2 He married, secondly, Mary Percy, daughter of Sir Thomas Percy and Eleanor Harbottle, in 1556.1,2 He died in 1600.3
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Knaresborogh in 1572.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Knaresborogh in 1584.2
