     Alexander Farquharson of Monaltrie was the son of Alexander Farquharson, 7th of Invercauld and Elizabeth Mackintosh.2 He married Anne Farquharson, daughter of Francis Farquharson of Finzean and Margaret Arbuthnot.1 He died on 1 February 1737.1
     He purchased Monaltrie on 28 October 1702 from Charles Farquharson, 4th of Monaltrie.1
