     Major Hon. Alan Victor Hare was born on 14 March 1919.2 He was the son of Richard Granville Hare, 4th Earl of Listowel and Hon. Freda Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone.2 He married Jill Peggotty North, daughter of Frank William Gordon North, on 5 November 1945.2 He died on 10 April 1995 at age 76.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Life Guards.2 He was with MI6.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)3 He was chairman of the Financial Times.2

     Jill Peggotty North was born circa 1925.2 She was the daughter of Frank William Gordon North.1 She married Major Hon. Alan Victor Hare, son of Richard Granville Hare, 4th Earl of Listowel and Hon. Freda Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, on 5 November 1945.1 She died on 27 May 2015.3
     Her married name became Hare. She lived in 2003 at 53 Rutland Gate, London, EnglandG.1

     Lady Ethel Patricia Hare was born on 29 October 1912.1 She was the daughter of Richard Granville Hare, 4th Earl of Listowel and Hon. Freda Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone.1 She married, firstly, Charles Thomas Milnes Gaskell, son of Major Evelyn Milnes Gaskell and Lady Constance Harriet Stuart Knox, on 12 November 1936.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Sir Robert Edward James Clive Milnes-Coates, 3rd Bt., son of Captain Sir Edward Clive Milnes-Coates, 2nd Bt. and Lady Celia Hermione Crewe-Milnes, on 4 September 1945.1 She died before 24 October 2005.2
     Lady Ethel Patricia Hare usually went by her middle name of Patricia.1 From 12 November 1936, her married name became Milnes Gaskell. From 4 September 1945, her married name became Milnes-Coates. She lived in 2003 at Moor House Farm, Helperby, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1

Freda Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone.1,2 She married, firstly, Major Arthur Onslow Edward Guinness, Viscount Elveden, son of Rupert Edward Cecil Lee Guinness, 2nd Earl of Iveagh and Lady Gwendolen Florence Mary Onslow, on 22 July 1936.1 She married, secondly, Edward Rory More O'Ferrall, son of Dominic More O'Ferrall, on 30 September 1947.1 She died in 1990.2
     From 22 July 1936, her married name became Guinness. From 30 September 1947, her married name became More O'Ferrall.

     Judith de Marffy-Mantuana was born on 12 July 1903.1,2 She was the daughter of Raoul de Marffy-Mantuana.1 She married William Francis Hare, 5th Earl of Listowel, son of Richard Granville Hare, 4th Earl of Listowel and Hon. Freda Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone, on 24 July 1933.1 She and William Francis Hare, 5th Earl of Listowel were divorced in 1945.1 She died on 15 July 2003 at age 100.1
     From 24 July 1933, her married name became Hare. After her marriage, Judith de Marffy-Mantuana was styled as Countess of Listowel on 24 July 1933.
