Brigadier Norman MacLeod1

     Brigadier Norman MacLeod was the son of Harold Hay Brodie MacLeod.2 He married Ethel Mary Synge, daughter of William Makepeace Thackeray Synge and Ethel Rose Bramwell, on 15 January 1931.1 He died on 17 June 1966.
     He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Scots Fusiliers.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1

     Katherine Eliza Vincent was the daughter of Captain John Vincent.2 She married Reverend Robert Synge, son of Sir Robert Synge, 1st Bt. and Margaret Wolfe, in 1847.1 She died in September 1850.1
     From 1847, her married name became Synge.
