     Lt.-Col. Horace James Johnston was the son of Francis Johnston.2 He married Florence Hope Browne-Clayton, daughter of William Clayton Browne-Clayton and Caroline Barton, on 28 April 1904.1 He died on 11 August 1915 at Gallipoli, TurkeyG, killed in action.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1
