     General Sir Bannastre Tarleton, 1st and last Bt. was born on 21 August 1754.1 He was the son of John Tarleton.1 He married Susan Priscilla Bertie, daughter of Robert Bertie, 4th Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven, on 17 December 1798.2 He died on 23 January 1833 at age 78 at Leintwardine, Shropshire, EnglandG.1
     He gained the rank of Brigade Major of Cavalry.1 He fought in the American War of Independence in 1781.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool in 1790.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1794.1 He and Mary Darby were associated before 1797.1,3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1801. He gained the rank of General in 1812. He was created 1st Baronet Tarleton on 6 November 1818. He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1820.

     Charles Colyear, 2nd Earl of Portmore was born on 27 August 1700. He was the son of David Colyear, 1st Earl of Portmore and Catherine Sedley, Countess of Dorchester.1 He married Juliana Hele, daughter of Roger Hele and Juliana Prestwood, on 7 October 1732. He died on 5 July 1785 at age 84.
     He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Portmore in 1730.
