James Arthur Joicey, 2nd Baron Joicey1

     James Arthur Joicey, 2nd Baron Joicey was born on 1 May 1880.1 He was the son of James Joicey, 1st Baron Joicey and Elizabeth Amy Robinson.2 He married Georgina Wharton Burdon, daughter of Major Augustus Edward Burdon and Alice Gertrude Vandeleur, on 10 September 1904 at St. Cuthbert's Parish CHurch, Bedlington, Northumberland, England.1,3 He died on 24 July 1940 at age 60.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Durham in 1910.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northumberland.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 7th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers (Territorial Force.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Joicey, of Chester-le-Street, co. Durham [U.K., 1893] on 21 November 1936.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Joicey, of Chester-le-Street, co. Durham [U.K., 1906] on 21 November 1936.1
