     Colonel Townsend James William Hungerford was born in 1814.1 He was the son of John Townsend Hungerford and Mary Anne Payne.1 He married Harriet Willoughby, daughter of George Willoughby, on 28 July 1855.1 He died between 1858 and 1859 at Port Philip, AustraliaG, while on sick-leave.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Bengal Artillery.1 He was Commander of the Forces at Mohn in 1857.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny.1
