Anne, Countess of Strafford

     Lady Anne Campbell was born circa 1720.1 She was the daughter of Field Marshal John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll and Jane Warburton.1 She married William Wentworth, 2nd Earl of Strafford, son of Thomas Wentworth, 1st Earl of Strafford and Anne Johnson, on 28 April 1741.1 She died on 7 February 1785 at Wentworth Castle, Yorkshire, EnglandG, after falling into a fire in an epileptic fit.1
     From 28 April 1741, her married name became Wentworth.1

General John Burgoyne

     General John Burgoyne was born in 1722.1 He was the son of Captain John Burgoyne.1 He married Lady Charlotte Stanley, daughter of Edward Stanley, 11th Earl of Derby and Elizabeth Hesketh, in 1749, eloping to France.2 He died in 1792.2
     He wrote the book The Heiress.2 He fought in the American War of Independence. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.1
