Sir Richard Croft1

     Sir Richard Croft was the son of William de Croft and Margaret Walwyn.1 He married Eleanor Cornwall, daughter of Edmund Cornwall and Elizabeth de la Barre.1 He died on 29 July 1509.1
     He held the office of Treasurer of the Household, to King Henry VII.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Herefordshire.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Herefordshire.1 He fought in the Battle of Mortimer's Cross in 1461, with the Yorkists, the battle being fought on his own estate.1 He fought in the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471, where he captured Prince Edward, son of King Henry VI, but was not responsible for the Prince's murder.1 He fought in the Battle of Stoke in 1487.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1487.1 He lived at Croft Castle, Herefordshire, EnglandG, Croft Castle.1

General Francis Straton1

     General Francis Straton was born circa 1806.1 He married Anne Rosamund Orde, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Leonard Shafto Orde and Lady Louisa Anne Jocelyn, on 1 September 1827 at Landford, Wiltshire, England.1 He died on 21 August 1882 at Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales.1
     He gained the rank of General in the Indian Army.1

     Sir Richard Herbert was born in 1468.2 He is the son of Sir Richard Herbert and Margaret ap Thomas.2 He married, firstly, Marged ap Gwilyn, daughter of Gwilyn ap Rhys.2 He married, secondly, Ann ap David, daughter of David ap Ieuan ap Llywelyn 'Fychan'.2
     He was appointed Knight in 1513.2 He lived at Montgomeryshire, WalesG.1

     Sir James Croft was the son of Richard Croft and Catherine Herbert.2 He married, firstly, Alice Warncombe, daughter of Richard Warncombe.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Blount, daughter of Edward Blount.1 He died on 4 September 1590.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Herefordshire.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He was appointed Knight in 1547.1 He held the office of Governor of Haddington in 1549.1 He held the office of Lord Depute of Ireland in 1551.1 He held the office of Deputy Constable of the Tower in 1552.1 On 21 February 1554 he was convicted of high treason and committed to the Tower.1 On 18 January 1555 he escaped with being bound to good bearing and fined £500.1 He held the office of a Lord of the Marches in 1557.1 He held the office of Governor of Berwick in 1560.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Household.1 In 1586 he was one of the Privy Counsellors appointed to try Mary, Queen of Scots.1 He was Commissioner of the Treaty of Bourbourg in 1588.1 He lived at Croft Castle, Herefordshire, EnglandG.1
