     Colonel Marcus Wylly de la Poer Beresford was born on 22 February 1825.² He was the son of John Beresford and Harriet Eliza Wylly.^3,1 He married Charlotte Blakeney, daughter of Captain Robert Blakeney and Contessa Julia Balbi, on 24 July 1852 at Corfu, Greece^G.¹ He died on 12 February 1902 at age 76.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 49th Regiment of Foot.¹

     Charlotte Blakeney was the daughter of Captain Robert Blakeney and Contessa Julia Balbi.¹ She married Colonel Marcus Wylly de la Poer Beresford, son of John Beresford and Harriet Eliza Wylly, on 24 July 1852 at Corfu, Greece^G.¹ She died on 31 October 1906.¹
     From 24 July 1852, her married name became Beresford.¹

     Lt.-Col. John Blakeney de la Poer Beresford was born on 16 September 1856.¹ He was the son of Colonel Marcus Wylly de la Poer Beresford and Charlotte Blakeney.¹ He married Amy Eva Gourlay, daughter of William Cameron Gourlay, on 18 March 1903.¹ He and Amy Eva Gourlay were divorced in 1917.¹ He died on 22 May 1930 at age 73.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Madras Staff Corps.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Royal Berkshire Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Cadet Battalion, London Regiment.¹

     Amy Eva Gourlay is the daughter of William Cameron Gourlay. She married Lt.-Col. John Blakeney de la Poer Beresford, son of Colonel Marcus Wylly de la Poer Beresford and Charlotte Blakeney, on 18 March 1903.¹ She and Lt.-Col. John Blakeney de la Poer Beresford were divorced in 1917.¹
     Her married name became Burrows.¹ Her married name became Beresford.

     He was awarded the Imperial Service Order (I.S.O.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He was Secretary, North Nigeria Administration between 1903 and 1911.¹

     Margery Mary Connell was the daughter of Reverend John Connell.¹ She married Marcus Henry de la Poer Beresford, son of Colonel Marcus Wylly de la Poer Beresford and Charlotte Blakeney, on 8 June 1882.¹ She died on 18 October 1920.¹
