     Sir Thomas Southwell, 1st Bt. was the son of Edmund Southwell and Catherine Herbert.1 He married Elizabeth Starkey, daughter of William Starkey.1 He died from 7 December 1680 to 1681.1
     He held the office of Sheriff of County Kerry.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Clare.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Limerick.1 He was created 1st Baronet Southwell, of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [Ireland] on 4 August 1662.1
