     Sir Reginald Frederick Brittain Bennett was born on 22 July 1911 at Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.2 He married Henrietta Crane in 1947.2 He died on 19 December 2000 at age 89.2
     He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.R.D.) in 1944.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Gosport and Fareham between 1950 and 1974.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Fareham between 1974 and 1979.2 He was appointed Knight in 1979.2
