     From 2 July 1938, her married name became Pakenham.1 From 29 August 1951, her married name became Merry.1

     Admiral John Pakenham was born on 18 October 1790.2 He was the son of Admiral Hon. Sir Thomas Pakenham and Louisa Anne Staples.3 He married, firstly, Caroline Emily Popham, daughter of Admiral Sir Home Riggs Popham and Elizabeth Moffat Prince, on 3 November 1817 at St. james, Westminster, London, England.3,4 He married, secondly, Frances Julia Peters, daughter of Henry Peters, on 8 May 1845.2 He died on 1 June 1876 at age 85.2
     He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.2 He also had two daughters by his first wife, who both died unmarried.2

     Major Spencer Charles Ferguson was born on 13 August 1868.2 He married Caroline Agnes Irwin, daughter of Thomas Angelo Irwin, on 12 September 1901.3
     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)4 He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers.2 He lived at Red Roof, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, EnglandG.4 He fought in the Nile Campaign in 1898.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cumberland.2

     Lt.-Cdr. George Cuthbert Irwin Ferguson was born on 9 June 1903.3 He was the son of Major Spencer Charles Ferguson and Caroline Agnes Irwin.1,2 He married Betty Gillian Price, daughter of O. T. Price.3 He died on 10 December 1941 at age 38, killed of the coast of Malaya in the sinking of H.M.S. Prince of Wales.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 24 May 1930.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.2 He fought in the Second World War.1
